Instructor/Assistant Professor in Audio Technology (Temporary)
The Department of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University seeks a full-time, one-year, temporary faculty member at the rank of either Instructor or Assistant Professor in Audio Technology for the 2009-10 academic year. The position may be renewed pending budgetary approval.
While applicants with any specialty in Audio Technology will be considered, applicants should have the ability to teach courses in live acoustic recording and sound (course could include but will not be necessarily limited to: Sound Studio Techniques 1 & 2, Mixing and Mastering, Digital Audio Workstations 1 & 2, Studio Management, Live sound Reinforcement, and possibly Business of the Audio Industry or other classes within the applicants area of expertise). Responsibilities will include undergraduate courses in Audio Technology, student advising and mentoring, and participating in department service activities. A Bachelors degree in audio technology, music, or physics with significant professional experience and accomplishment will be considered; a graduate degree in audio technology, music, or physics is preferred.
