Three one-year positions: Ethnomusicology, Musicology, Theory
1. Ethnomusicology
Appointment Effective August 2009
Position Title Instructor in Ethnomusicology. Sabbatical replacement. One-year appointment.
Major Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching world music and/or music appreciation in the general education curriculum, area studies courses in world music and other teaching duties as assigned by the chair and/or dean.
Qualifications
1. Doctorate (earned or ABD) in ethnomusicology (doctorate preferred). Area of expertise is open.
2. Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college level preferred.
Salary
The salary is competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels for rank and position, and in keeping with candidate experience and credentials.

Applicants should submit a letter indicating the applicants interest in and qualifications for the position; full curriculum vitae; and the names, addresses, and phone numbers of at least five references.
Finalists for the position will be asked to submit three current (dated within one year) letters of reference and an official transcript showing the highest degree earned.

2. Musicology

Position Title Instructor (Musicology). One-year appointment.
Major Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position are in music history at the undergraduate or graduate levels and in the general education curriculum. Additional duties may be assigned by the department chair and/or dean.
Qualifications
1. Doctorate (earned or ABD) in musicology (doctorate preferred). Expertise in 20th-century art music after 1945.
2. Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college level preferred.
Salary
The salary is competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels for rank and position, and in keeping with candidate experience and credentials.
