We are happy to announce the program of Feminist Theory and Music 10, May 27-31, 2009 at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro!

Celebrate Women's History Month (March) by registering early, and receive a substantial discount on the registration fee!

Our action-packed program this year features scholarly papers from around the world on historical, critical, and theoretical topics concerning popular and concert music from the U.S., Latin America, the Canary Islands, and Europe in their relation to feminism, gender, and sexuality.

Special features of FTM10 include keynotes by Sherrie Tucker, Tammy Kernodle, and Yolanda Broyles-González; a panel of American papers in honor of Adrienne Fried Block; a film about avant-garde visual artist Louise Bourgeois (in conjunction with the Weatherspoon Art Museum); fascinating mid-day lecture recitals; and three fabulous concerts with historical and brand new music, including the world premier of three scenes from Alice Shields' new opera Criseyde, a feminist re-telling of Chaucer's romance Troilus and Criseyde.

This is an FTM you will not want to miss, and it all takes place in our beautiful, historical town of Greensboro, North Carolina.
