LECTURER IN INDONESIAN MUSIC
(Lecturer, 2/3 time, appointment for 3 years, with possibility of renewal)
The Cornell University Department of Music seeks to fill the position of lecturer, 2/3 time, in Indonesian music.
The successful candidate
--> will  be able to teach performance of contemporary Indonesian gamelan and courses in the historical and cultural contexts of Indonesian music;
--> will  have experience in teaching an academic course that combines elements of performance and scholarship;
--> will have Master of Arts (or equivalent professional accomplishment) in music and demonstrated expertise in directing Indonesian ensembles;
--> will continue to develop existing collaborative relationships in performance and other curriculum within the music department, and interdisciplinary contacts across Cornell departments and programs;
--> will  work with Cornell Southeast Asia Program in outreach and educational activities for area schools and community groups.
