The Music Graduate Student Association (MuGSA) of the University at Buffalo is pleased to present the 2009 University at Buffalo Graduate Student Symposium on Music.  The symposium will take place Friday March 27th from 2-5 and Saturday March 28th from 9-5 in 250 Baird Hall on UB's North Campus. Graduate students from UB and around the country will present papers on music and its intersections with film, politics, and literature. A variety of disciplines will be represented, including musicology, composition, and performance. MuGSA is pleased to welcome keynote speaker Dr. Suzanne Cusick, Professor of Historical Musicology at New York University, who will speak about her current research on music and torture on Saturday afternoon at 1. This event is supported and funded by the Graduate Student Association, SubBoard I and the Department of Music.
