The University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music and Center for American Music present Echoes of Ellington, a conference on the music of Duke Ellington, April 15-17, 2009.  Featured speakers will be James Lincoln Collier (renowned jazz author), John Howland (specialist in the various arranging traditions across big band jazz and jazz-related orchestral idioms in dance bands, musical theater, and the media of film and radio), and John Franceschina (author of Duke Ellington’s Music for Theatre).
