[AMS-announce] JOB: Asst. Professor, Ethnomusicology, William & Mary

The Department of Music at the College of William and Mary seeks to  fill
a full-time, tenure-eligible assistant professorship in  ethnomusicology
beginning August 2009. The ideal candidate will have  completed the Ph.D,
have a record of teaching experience, and  demonstrate the potential for
significant scholarship in the  profession.  The department offers a wide
variety of courses in  ethnomusicology and western music (including
American music).   Courses range from introductory survey classes and
writing-intensive  freshman seminars on specific topics to upper-level
lecture or  seminar courses concerned with particular topics or
geographical  areas.  At William and Mary music is taught in the context
of a  liberal arts education.  Many courses are cross listed with other 
departments and programs and attract students from all disciplines.
