The Department of Music at Stanford University, in conjunction with the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, seeks to make a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.  We intend to appoint a scholar or scholar-practitioner focusing on issues of race and ethnicity in repertoires including but not limited to Jazz, indigenous, and non-Western musics.  Applicants will be expected to teach Music and CCSRE courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in popular, vernacular, and non-Western musical cultures and repertoires.
