CALL FOR PAPERS
11th International Conference of the Dutch-Flemish Society for Music Theory
University of Leuven (Belgium), February 20-22, 2009
TIME, TEMPORALITY & PROPORTIONS
All contributions are welcome, but submissions on the following topics are especially encouraged:
Time, temporality & proportionality as theoretical and analytical concepts
Perception of time and proportions
Composition technique(s) and the organisation of time
The importance of tempo
Abstracts (max. 400 words) can be submitted until 12 December 2008 and should be sent to:

Lectures (in English, German or Dutch) should not exceed 20' (+ 5' of discussion time). The full programme will be published by January 13th. The last day of the conference is conceived as a celebration in honour of the honorary members of the Society: Michiel Schuijer, Clemens Kemme, Barbara Bleij and Henk Borgdorff.
A selection of (reworked) papers will be published in a special issue of the Dutch Journal for Music Theory in February 2010.

Joseph N. Straus (City University of New York)
The conference is organised in collaboration with the Department of Musicology of the University of Leuven.
