September 27-28, 2008
University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC
URL: http://theory.music.ubc.ca/~theorist/index.htm

Keynote speaker: Dr. Vera Micznik, Professor, University of British Columbia

Canadian and US graduate students are invited to submit proposals for this annual regional conference, hosted alternatively by the University of Washington, University of Victoria, and University of British Columbia. We welcome a wide array of interdisciplinary topics, including, but not limited to: musicology, theory and analysis, ethnomusicology, composition, performance, philosophy and aesthetics, music education, and music cognition. Non-traditional approaches, such as lecture-recitals or cross-disciplinary studies from non-music specialists, are certainly encouraged. Panel discussions will also be considered.

Please submit abstracts of no more than 250 words by July 15, 2008. Accepted presenters will be notified by August 15. Presentation length should be 20 minutes for papers and 40 minutes for lecture-recitals, allowing time for questions and/or discussion to follow.
