CFP: 2008 South Central Graduate Music Consortium 

South Central Graduate Music Consortium

Sept. 5 and 6, 2008 

University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC 

The South Central Graduate Music Consortium (SCGMC), a collaboration between the students of the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), Duke University, and the University of Virginia, is pleased to announce its 2008 Annual Meeting to be held at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill on September 5/6, 2008 with a keynote address from Professor Suzanne Cusick.  The Consortium welcomes participation from all graduate students who will be affiliated with a nationally recognized university as of Fall 2008.  Please submit abstracts (200-250 words) for 20-minute papers or performance lectures whose topics include musicology, ethnomusicology, music theory, performance practice, music composition or any combination thereof.  Both independent and collaborative projects are welcome.  Abstracts and a statement of technological needs (AV equipment) for the presentation should be sent by 1 July 2008 via email to Jeff Wright (jmwright at email.unc.edu).
