[AMS-announce] ANNOUNCEMENT: Philadelphia Orchestra Global Concert Series Test Partners

The Philadelphia Orchestra is seeking qualified, new partners at universities/colleges to join in test multicast transmissions of its Global Concert Series –  live concerts with enhanced and interactive content transmitted in HD and Dolby surround sound to your venue via Internet2.  Participants will be shipped a set top box, similar in appearance to a cable tv box, on loan, while supplies last.  This will equip you with the opportunity to receive The Orchestra’s HD MPEG-2, Dolby surround sound transmission on Thursday, April 10 at 8:00 pm, alternatively, Saturday, May 3 at 8:00 pm or Friday, May 16 at 2:00 pm. Since this is a test there should be no audience but yourself and technical staff. However, if you have a suitable venue, and you want to conduct the test with other music faculty, venue managers or other relevant staff, this would be ideal.  Our hope is that you find value in the Global Concert Series on your campus with benefits to your performing arts venue, or music, IT, student affairs or development departments.
