CONFERENCE: "Johannes Brahms und Anton Bruckner im Spiegel der Musiktheorie"

August 17th-20th, 2008 -- Stift St. Florian / Austria 

>From August 17th to 20th, there will be an international symposium "Johannes Brahms und Anton Bruckner im Spiegel der Musiktheorie" in St. Florian / Austria (near Linz), organized by the Verein BrucknerTage St. Florian in cooperation with the Department of Musicology of Mainz University.  

Speakers include Prof. Dr. Juergen Blume (Mainz/Germany), Prof. Dr. William Drabkin (Southampton/United Kingdom), Mag. Matthias Giesen (Vienna/Austria), Prof. Bernhard Haas (Stuttgart/Germany), PD Dr. Christoph Hust (Mainz/Germany), Mag. Joanne Leekam, Dr. Klaus Petermayr (both Linz/Austria), Prof. Dr. Dr. Karl Rehberger (St. Florian/Austria), Prof. Stefan Rohringer (Munich/Germany), Prof. Dr. Lee A. Rothfarb (Santa Barbara/United States of America), and Dr. Christiane Wiesenfeldt (Luebeck/Germany).  

There will be lectures, discussions, mini-workshops based on the Bruckner autographs of St. Florian's library and archives, and concerts.
