[AMS-announce] JOB: One-year Visiting Asst. Professor of Jazz and Popular Music, Amherst College

The Department of Music at Amherst College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Jazz and Popular Music to begin July 1, 2008.  We are particularly interested in scholar-performers of jazz and popular music whose research, creative work, and teaching combines ethnography and historiography with skills in performance and in new media and technologies.  Preference will be given to candidates able to assume a small portion of the theory/composition curriculum. Except in unusual cases, applicants should have a PhD or DMA by the time of appointment.
