[AMS-announce] AWARD: Mozart Society, Emerson Award

The Mozart Society of America invites nominations for its Marjorie Weston Emerson Award. This prize, in the amount of $500, is given for the best scholarly work on Mozart published in English during the previous calendar year. Eligible works include books, essays, and editions. 

The selection will be made by a committee of Mozart scholars appointed by the President of the Mozart Society of America, with approval from the Board of Directors. The committee will reach its decision by 1 September 2008 and, if an award is granted, will present it at the Society’s annual business meeting in the fall of 2008 and announce it in the Society’s Newsletter the following January. 

Nominations (including self-nominations) for works published in 2007 must be submitted by 1 May 2008, via mail or email, to:
