The Department of Music History at West Chester University of Pennsylvania seeks a temporary instructor for AY 2009-10, effective August 2009, as a sabbatical replacement.  Teaching load maximum 4 classes per semester (dependent on enrollments), maximum 3 preparations per semester.  Salary competitive.

Required:  Completed Ph.D in music history (or an equivalent concentration such as musicology or music history and theory); A.B.D. considered.  College/university teaching experience required.  Energetic, enthusiastic classroom persona essential.  Ability to teach Fine Arts Music (introduction to music, undergraduate non-majors), Topics in Music History 1880-Present (graduate) and/or another M.A. level music history period course, graduate seminar. 

Preferred:  Ability to teach Perspectives in Jazz (undergraduate non-majors), Form and Style in the Arts (interdisciplinary inter-related arts, undergraduate non-majors) and Music History III (Late Beethoven-Present).
