The Renaissance Society of America will hold its next annual meeting in Los Angeles, 19-21 March 2009. The deadline for submitting proposals for papers and panels is 25 May 2008. If you would like to propose either an individual paper or a panel (3 papers), I would appreciate it if you would let me know by May 15. As Discipline Representative to the Society, I can support the music component of the meeting in several ways. I can assemble individual papers into meaningful sessions (if you submit directly to the program committee, they are likely to come up with session titles like "Renaissance Music"), recommend the acceptance of your proposals, and advise the program committee to avoid scheduling music sessions in conflict with each other.
I would love to build on the spectacular success of the 2008 meeting by presenting as many music papers as possible in 2009. If you have even a tentative interest in contributing a paper or panel in 2009, please let me know as soon as possible. All you need is a title and very short abstract (maximum 150 words) at this point. Any topic from ca. 1350 to ca. 1650 is welcome.
I hope to hear from you!
