University of Michigan-Dearborn, Associate Professor: Doctor of Philosophy in Musicology with Historical Emphasis or with Ethnomusicological Emphasis. Responsibilities: Coordinate the music program, oversee the development of its curriculum, teach classes related to that curriculum, and explore development of a major in music. We are particularly interested in a colleague who has experience teaching introductory and upper-level courses in the discipline of musicology or ethnomusicology, with special attention given to candidates with a specialization in American Music (especially Jazz) or non-Western music relevant to Dearborn students. (Dearborn is located about 20 minutes from Detroit and 40 minutes from Ann Arbor). Flexibility and a strong commitment to teaching both music minors and students fulfilling general requirements in an undergraduate setting are essential. We seek a versatile colleague who will maintain an active research career and contribute to the life of
the
department and college. The candidate also will oversee applied music courses and will work to enhance performance classes on campus, especially the chorale.
