The University of Pittsburgh invites applicants for graduate studies in
music to compete for several fellowships.  These include:

TWO ARTS AND SCIENCES FELLOWSHIPS
Full tuition remission and stipends of $17,162 for the first year, followed
by three years as a teaching assistant starting at $15,000 plus free tuition
and health insurance.

THE PROVOST'S HUMANITIES FELLOWSHIP
Full tuition remission and a stipend of $17,000 for the first year, followed
by three years as a teaching assistant starting at $15,000 plus free tuition
and health insurance.

K. LEROY IRVIS FELLOWSHIPS FOR MINORITY STUDENTS
Full tuition remission and a stipend of $17,000 for the first year, followed
by three years as a teaching assistant starting at $15,000 plus free tuition
and health insurance.

THE CHANCELLOR'S FELLOWSHIP IN CHINESE STUDIES
Full tuition remission and a stipend of $16,000.  May be renewable for up to
two additional years, followed by the award of a teaching assistantship to
total four years of support.

THE JAPAN IRON AND STEEL MITSUBISHI FELLOWSHIP
Full tuition remission and a stipend of $16,000, followed by three years as
a teaching assistant with a stipend starting at $15,000 plus free tuition
and health insurance

Awards of continuing financial aid are contingent upon evidence of
satisfactory progress.
