Music Vacancy 2008
Assistant Professor or Instructor in Music (Music History). Full-time, one-year position beginning September 1, 2008, with possible reappointment for up to two additional years. Specialization in music before 1750. Eligibility for professional travel and research support parallel to tenure-track faculty.
PhD preferred, ABD considered; college teaching experience strongly preferred. Responsibilities include a teaching load of five courses: the first two semesters of a three-semester history survey for majors (ca. 800-1700, and 1700-ca. 1820), directing the Collegium Musicum (the early music group) which counts as the equivalent of two courses, and a history course (elective) in the candidate's area of expertise.
