Confounding Expectations: Music and the Unexpected Outcome
2008 Graduate Student Conference: Call for Papers
The graduate students of the University of Calgary's Department of Music are pleased to announce a call for papers for their 2008 Graduate Student Conference. The conference will take place Friday and Saturday April 25th and 26th, 2008 at the renowned Rozsa Centre. The aim of the conference is to provide a collegial environment in which graduate students can present their research and form professional connections. We encourage submissions from all areas of music research including education, ethnomusicology, composition, musicology, and performance. Proposals for lecture recitals are also welcome. Papers should be no longer than 20 minutes and lecture-recitals no longer than 40. A 10-minute question period will follow each presentation. Abstracts should be around 350 words, must contain no information that could identify you or your institution, and be accompanied by the provided form. ursday January 10th, 2008. All abstracts will be evaluated anonymously and should be suitable for publication in the conference program. Presenters will be notified on or before February 1st, 2008.
