Bucknell University, Department of Music 

JOB TITLE:  Assistant Professor of Music, tenure track 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Bucknell University Department of Music seeks candidates with expertise in two of the following three areas: jazz, music theory, or music history (19th or 20th century); specific area of expertise open. The successful candidate will extend and complement departmental strengths and will teach 5 courses each academic year from among the following areas: jazz history or literature, jazz arranging, music theory, non-major survey, interdisciplinary courses, 19th or 20th century music history topics.  Appointee will be expected to pursue scholarly research, creative activities, or musical performance and to participate fully in departmental activities. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Doctorate preferred.  ABD considered.  Evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level is preferred. 

RANK AND SALARY:  Assistant professor, entry level.  Salary competitive.
