Beloit College is seeking qualified candidates to fill a full-time tenure-track position at the assistant or associate level beginning August 2008.  The position is for a musicologist with an interest in teaching some theory.  Preference given to candidates able to teach some courses in ethnomusicology.  We seek applicants who are eager to contribute to the broader intellectual life of this small liberal arts college, including interdisciplinary work, collaborative learning, and participation in the First-Year Initiatives Program.  Doctorate in music history/musicology (preferably Ph.D.) expected at time of appointment.  Teaching experience at the college level required.

Beloit College, a highly selective liberal arts college, is committed to cultural and ethnic diversity.  The teaching load is 3-2 with small classes.  Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activity, advising, and campus governance.
