Announcement of One-Year Faculty Position in Musicology
POSITION/SALARY:
One-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Musicology; non-tenure
eligible. Attractive benefits package.
DESCRIPTION:
The NAU School of Music seeks a dynamic, creative, collegial, and
dedicated specialist in Western music history for a one-year visiting
assistant professor position, non-tenure eligible, with the
possibility of renewal. Job begins August 2007. Assignment includes
traditional classroom teaching as well as online courses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in music history or musicology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate in musicology or related discipline. Background in music
technology, popular music, American music, and/or music appreciation
highly desirable. Demonstrated success in teaching at the
university/collegiate level. Demonstrated commitment to working with
diverse populations.
THE INSTITUTION:
The School of Music at Northern Arizona University continues a proud
tradition of training the next generation of music teachers,
performers, and scholars for the State of Arizona and the
Southwestern U.S. A growing number of undergraduate and graduate
students, approximately 450 in number, pursue degrees in music
education, performance, choral conducting, instrumental conducting,
music theory and composition, musicology, Suzuki violin/viola, and
piano accompanying.
