Deadline for receipt of submissions: July 1, 2007

The Journal of the Society for American Music invites submissions for
a special interdisciplinary issue on Technology and Black Music in
the Americas, to be guest edited by George E. Lewis (Columbia
University). This topic area engages a rapidly growing, yet
academically neglected interest in the intersections of music, race,
gender, technology, science fiction, diaspora, utopia, Afrofuturism,
and posthumanism among a younger generation of scholars, musicians,
artists, writers, and listeners.
