NOTICE OF FACULTY VACANCY
Musicology
Assistant Professor, tenure track

The Pennsylvania State University
University Park, PA


POSITION:
Musicologist with scholarly specialization in music after ca. 1650 and with teaching interests that include world music.  The musicology  faculty at Penn State work collaboratively within a program of music history and theory.  The School of Music offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including the M.A. in musicology, the M.A. in music theory, and an integrative M.A. in music theory and history.

RANK:
Assistant Professor, tenure track.

DUTIES:
Teach introductory courses in western and non-western music for undergraduate music majors, and occasionally for non-majors; teach upper-level and graduate seminars in musicology; supervise student research.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in musicology/music history by the time of appointment, college teaching experience, a strong commitment to research and publication, and potential for national and international achievement as a scholar.
