The CFP posted 1/10/07 for the annual meeting of the AMS Rocky
Mountain Chapter at Arizona State University, March 30-31, 2007, was
intended for the membership of that chapter and may have been
confusing to everyone else. We apologize for any confusion
and herewith offer some clarification of our procedures.
The Rocky Mountain Chapter has a long tradition of focusing its
annual meetings on the work of the members of that chapter, and
therefore papers proposed by chapter members, faculty and students
alike, are given priority in the programming. If time allows, papers
and presentations by AMS members in other chapters are very welcome.
We are soliciting proposals for papers on any topics related to
historical musicology. Proposals from Rocky Mountain Chapter members
will be accepted first, and all others will be accepted on a
space-available basis, in the order received. Papers are limited to
twenty minutes. We ask that any student proposal be accompanied by
an e-mail of approval from a sponsoring faculty member.
The earlier a proposal is submitted, the more likely it is to be
accepted, but all should be received by Friday, February 9th. We
will need this information: title, your name as it should appear on
the program, institutional affiliation, e-mail address, phone number,
and AV equipment needs. If we are able to include your paper, we
will solicit an abstract of at most 250 words, suitable for
publication in the abstract booklet, shortly after acceptance.
Electronic submission: Send to Amy.Holbrook at asu.edu
Surface mail: Amy Holbrook, School of Music, PO Box 870405, Arizona
State University, Tempe, AZ 85287-0405
We look forward to seeing our friends, both old and new, in March.
Sincerely,
Amy Holbrook and J. Richard Haefer, co-chairs
