The annual meeting of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American
Musicological Society and the Southwest Chapter of the Society for
Ethnomusicology will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 30th
and 31st, 2007, at the School of Music at Arizona State University,
Tempe, Arizona. We are anticipating enough papers for two full days,
from 9:00 a.m. to ca. 4:00 p.m., and so we are sending this Call for
Papers with high hopes.
We are soliciting proposals for papers, demonstrations, and special
sessions on any topic related to historical musicology and
ethnomusicology. In accordance with the traditions of the chapters,
papers will be limited to twenty minutes. Submissions are welcome
from every member of the societies, but we do ask that any student
proposal be accompanied by an e-mail of approval from a supervising
faculty member.
Please, by Friday, February 9th, send your proposal with this
information: title, your name as it should appear on the program,
institutional affiliation, e-mail address, phone number, and AV
equipment needs. By Friday, March 2nd, we will need also an abstract
of at most 250 words, suitable for publication in the abstract
booklet.
Electronic submission: E-mail attachments in Microsoft Word format
are preferred. Send AMS proposals to Amy.Holbrook at asu.edu and SEM
proposals to J.Richard.Haefer at asu.edu by Friday, February 9th.
