DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE MARRYOTT MUSIC BUILDING:
Coming by car is probably preferable:
1) Take the NJ Turnpike south to Exit 9. After the tollbooth, stay
right onto Route 18 North.
2) Get immediately into the two left lanes of Route 18; these two
lanes will cross over Route 1 (the two right lanes exit onto Route 1
North).
3) After crossing Route 1, go through one traffic light. There will
be lots of construction around it.
4) About 1/2 mile past the traffic light there will be an exit ramp on
the right marked "George Street." Take that exit.
5) The ramp swings up to the left over Route 18, and the very first
building on the right is the Marryott Music Building. There will be a
traffic light soon after the end of the ramp. Do NOT go through that
light.
6) At the light you can turn right and then enter a parking lot
immediately to the left. Or you can turn left at the light (using the
jughandle from the right lane) and park in the lot on the opposite
side of the street.
TRAIN DIRECTIONS TO THE MARRYOTT MUSIC BUILDING:
If you come by train from NYC, you'll exit NJ Transit at New
Brunswick. Walk to the left one block as you exit the train station
and you'll reach George Street, the main street of downtown New
Brunswick. Turn left at the corner and walk one block to the corner of
George and Somerset Streets. There you will see a bus stop for the
University Bus system, which is free. Wait for a bus that is going to
the Cook/Douglass campus (EE, E, or F). Take the bus to the stop at
the Douglass Student Center; the driver will alert you. The bus goes
up George St. and the stop is on Nichol Ave, just around a corner from
George St. Walk from the bus stop back towards George St., cross the
street, and keep walking straight to the chapel, which you will see
from the bus stop. At the chapel, continue walking diagonally to the
right. The sidewalk will take you to a footbridge across a small
ravine, and the arts complex is at the other end of the footbridge.
Ask anyone you see at that point to direct you to the Marryott Music
Building.
You can also take a taxi from the train station. There is a taxi stand
right next to the train station. Ask the driver to take you to the
Nicholas Music Center on the Douglass campus if he doesn't know the
Marryott Music Building itself. The Music Center is right next to the
Music Building.
We look forward to seeing you on January 20.
Best Wishes,
Eric Hung
