Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to participate in the meeting of the American Hungarian
Educators' Association in New York City on April 19-21. AHEA is an
interdisciplinary group devoted to research on Hungarian culture in all its
expressions, and we welcome papers that speak to the general theme of
"Hungarians in the Larger World" as well as other new research.
As 2007 is the 40th anniversary of the death of Zoltan Kodaly, and the 125th
anniversary of his birth, we especially want to recognize his tremendous
contributions to music throughout the world and those of other great
Hungarian musicians, composers, researchers, and educators.
It is very important to observe the deadline of Jan. 20. Should that not be
possible, please send an intent to participate by that date in case there
continue to be openings. Questions may be sent to me or to Kalman Magyar,
both of the American Hungarian Folklore Centrum.
Best wishes,
Judith Olson
