The Department of Music at the College of William and Mary seeks to fill a full-time one-year position in ethnomusicology and American Music (particularly jazz and popular music) starting in August 2007. The successful candidate should anticipate teaching 5 courses over the academic year including a survey of Jazz and a World Music survey. Other course offerings could incorporate any areas of specialization in ethnomusicology or popular music studies as upper-level lecture or seminar courses or as writing-intensive freshman seminars.
