We are delighted to announce the forthcoming volume in honour of Reinhard Strohm: _Music as Social and Cultural Practice_ (Boydell & Brewer, July 2007). This collection of essays examines a controversial theme central to his research: the intersection of the musical work with social and cultural practice. Inspired by Strohm’s ideas, twenty-one leading scholars from Europe, North America and the Middle East explore diverse conceptualizations of the ‘work’ within the contexts of a specific repertory from periods spanning the eighth century to the present.

We invite you to honour Reinhard Strohm's legacy and the scholarly community he has helped create by subscribing to the tabula gratulatoria at the pre-publication discounted price of £45 ($80). The publication price will be £75.00 (c.$145.00).

For further details regarding the volume and subscription, please contact the publisher by emailing: editorial at boydell.co.uk. In your message, please indicate the number of copies you would like, your method of payment (cheque or credit card) and your name as you wish it to appear. Please note that subscriptions should be sent by 12 March 2007.
