CALL FOR PAPERS
Crosscurrents: American and European Music in Interaction, 1900-2000. An
international conference in two parts: Harvard
University, Cambridge, MA, Oct. 30-Nov. 1, 2008; Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität
Munich, May 7-9, 2009.
We invite papers exploring this cultural exchange and its historiographical
implications. These issues can be discussed in relation to a broad range of
musical idioms as well as to musical scholarship and criticism. The conference
will be organized jointly by the Harvard University Department of Music,
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, and the Paul Sacher Foundation, Basel.
Please send an abstract of not more than 250 words as well as a short (maximum
50-word) biography to currents at fas.harvard.edu or to the postal address
