[AMS-announce] ANNOUNCEMENT: Concert, Copland and the Cold War, Roosevelt University, Chicago, 1 May 2007

A concert exploring "Copland and the Cold War" will be presented May 1 at
Roosevelt University (Chicago) as part of a neighboring Copland festival
presented by the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. The program will include a
re-enactment of Copland's testimony before McCarthy and Roy Cohn; "Into
the Streets May First" (audience sing-along); mini-lectures by myself and
by the Roosevelt University historian Margaret Rung; performances (Piano
Variations, El Salon Mexico, Piano Fantasy) by the pianist Benjamin
Pasternack; etc.

Ganz Hall, 7:30 pm. Free admission.
