MUSICOLOGY

Washington University in St. Louis announces a tenured or tenure-track position in musicology to begin in Fall semester 2007. We are looking primarily for a scholar with expertise in Western musicology, particularly post 1750; additional interests in American vernacular musics are also desirable. 

Qualifications: Candidates should have significant post-doctoral teaching experience, a promising record of publications, and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who can engage in interdisciplinary teaching in a liberal arts environment. 

Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of expertise; pursue research and publication; supervise independent projects, theses, and dissertations; and participate on department and university committees. 

Deadline: Consideration of applications will begin on October 15, 2006, and continue until the position is filled.
