Position Announcement

Music Theory / Composition 

Position:  Music Theory / Composition - Tenure Track 

Rank: Assistant Professor 

Salary:   Commensurate with experience 

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in music theory, applied composition, graduate and undergraduate analysis, and electronic music; supervise graduate and undergraduate honors theses; assist in coordinating the use of technology in the department. Other duties such as teaching courses in aural training, orchestration, arranging, counterpoint, or research may be assigned depending upon the candidate’s qualifications and departmental need. 

Qualifications: Doctorate at or near completion in Music Theory or Composition required. An engaging classroom manner, expertise in the use of technology, and a strong commitment to research/creative activity are essential.
