NOTICE OF FACULTY VACANCY

Assistant Professor of Music

Musicology

POSITION: The Department of Music at the University of Texas at San Antonio seeks a qualified person
to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in musicology. Additional teaching opportunities will be based
on the candidate’s interest and abilities. Pending budget approval.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a PhD with a specialization in Music History
or Musicology no later than September 1, 2007. The position requires a candidate who has a minimum of
one year experience teaching musicology at the university level and who can demonstrate potential for a
successful career as a research scholar. All areas of specialization will be considered. Preferred
qualifications include experience in any of the following areas: ethnomusicology, choral literature, music
before 1600, and work with doctoral students.
